Do you recognise these symptoms?
- Gritty, sandy or burning eyes
- Eyes that feel tired, especially after screen use or reading
- Watery eyes — often a sign of dryness
- Redness or irritation, or crusty eyelids
- Vision that blurs, then clears when you blink
- Discomfort with contact lenses
Dry eye can be caused by many things — screen use, central heating, ageing, hormonal changes, some medications and eyelid conditions such as blepharitis.
